11:50 am Geocaching

I needed a find for this date, so drove over to a geocache on the west side of Lethbridge. The drive was to a new subdivision which includes a branch library as well as a high school. The roads are finished but it is difficult to figure out where they go. Anyway I finally parked at the library and walked about 500 feet to the cache site where I made a quick find.

There are only 99 blank spots left on the grid of days for the year,  3 of which remain in May.

2:30 PM Birding

While taking my regular coulee walk I saw a "shorebird" in front of me on the trail. This was on the upper level after I had left the coulee and was in an open grassland area. In all the times I have walked this trail, this is the first time I have seen a bird like this. A check of my books indicates that it was an Upland Sandpiper. This is another "lifer" for us.
