7:00 am Life

A quick review of the entries for the last few days has been disappointing. I am pleased with my early efforts at fitness but I am not as happy with either my progress at completing the web pages corresponding to our time in Australia nor am I making good progress with the readings I identified on April 20. But I have learned a fair amount about pelagic birds while trying to identify the birds in a photo I took from the headland at Byron Bay.

At the moment I have a pot of 9-bean soup on the stove that will be ready for lunch. It is a hearty soup and one of our favorites. Much of the remainder of the day will be shared by working on my Aussi web pages and reading. Morning is a good time for a little Tao Te Ching.

8:30 am Cooking

I have had a great start to the day. The soup smells delicious. Now to let it simmer and set and blend the flavours.

What goes well with hearty soup? Freshly baked bread. That is now in the oven. It has been ages since I last had flour on my hands, as well as on everything else. Anyway, I scraped enough off my hands to make a loaf (without using a bread-maker) of something called hearth bread.

Now I will try reading ...

Here are 2 photos of the results from earlier this morning:

8:00 PM Birding

A good part of today was devoted to viewing, and reviewing, the photos I took while birding on March 25. I was able to make a few changes to the list of birds we identified that day, and I made the appropriate changes to my database as well. Parenthetically, I had no difficulty syncing my Bento birding database on my iPad to the "parent" database on my laptop. Sometimes technology works smoothly.
