Monday January 2
9:00 am
This is a driving day as we head back to Lethbridge. The driving conditions are fantastic, what we call “summer driving conditions”, dry and clear with no icy sections.
We stopped at Glen’s Restaurant in Red Deer for breakfast. This is one of our favourite stops on the way home. It also specializes in teas from around the world. True to my new year’s resolution, I bought two packets - an Earl Grey and a Licorice Root. The first is one of my favorites, the second is a curiosity.
11:00 am Geocaching
We made another quick stop at a roadside pull-out on the highway to Calgary to search for a geocache. This was a quick find and we continued on our way south.
- GCWNZ0 - Henday Hide-Away
This was another example of being a first find for this particular date, i.e. on a January 2.
1:00 PM
We had a quick stop in Calgary for some delicious appetizers and then continued on to Lethbridge.
3:30 PM
Home.
I tried the Earl Grey tea that I bought in Red Deer. I found my Japanese tea set that I bought for myself when I received my first royalty cheque for my book on Logo. That was a very long time ago!
