January 31, 10:20 am Geocaching
I wanted to register a find for this day of the year so I decided to have a second look for a nearby cache in Coalhurst. The wind was up again making it rather miserable out there, but I soon had the find in hand. I took the same strategy as last time but this time I saw the first container which gave the final coordinates for the cache. This was another cache for Premium members only, so there is no link to the cache website.
- GC36XEN - Dancing with the Sun
This brought my total finds for January to 10 so there are still 21 days to fill in next year.
January 30, 3:00 PM Geocaching
Earlier this afternoon we pulled into a side road off highway 3 just east of Grassy Lake and made a quick find of a geocache that had been first been put out on November 25, 2011. I was the 8th person to log a find for this cache. It was also my first find for a January 30th.

Always nice to find a new cache. This one was within walking distance. The cache was rated as a 1.5 for terrain, but with the wind and low temperatures it felt more like a 2.5 by the time I arrived there. I have now found 6 caches in 2012, and my total for the month of January is 8. My grand total is 1212.

The cache is only available for "Premium" members of geocaching.com, and thus I am not including a link to the website.

January 3, 12:30 PM Geocaching
A new cache appeared in Lethbridge last week. I decided to search for this today. This will bring me up to date with all of the caches in the city. I suspected from the description that it would be a little green thing in a spruce tree. I was concerned as I approached the area as there were about 6 large spruce trees in a cluster. However it turned out to be a quick find. Whew!
- GC3A1FW - New Vista
My total number of finds is now 1209.
January 2, 11:00 am Geocaching
We made another quick stop at a roadside pull-out on the highway to Calgary to search for a geocache. This was a quick find and we continued on our way south.
- GCWNZ0 - Henday Hide-Away
This was another example of being a first find for this particular date, i.e. on a January 2.
January 1, 10:00 am Geocaching
There was a geocache about a hundred metres away from MacDonalds so I made a quick walk and had my first find for 2012.
- GC3962F - A moose in Boston
This was also my first find for a January 1 date.
December 31, 10:40 am Geocaching
We pulled in beside the water tower in Claresholm and soon made a quick find.
- GC34PTQ - Brat Doll Goes Geocaching
I was pleased to make this find as it was fairly close to Lethbridge and I didn't want to make a special trip just to find it.
