11:30 am Geocaching
I have identified 3 caches within a hundred kilometres of home that I can try to find. The closest of these was south of Cardston. I left about 9:30 this morning in summer driving conditions but ran into fresh snow and dense fog banks between Magrath and Cardston. A bit of a surprise as the sky was blue, but this must have happened over night. I reduced my speed to about 80 kph and kept on truckin', arriving without difficulty at the cache site about 10:30.
I quickly went to the coordinates for part 1 - there was a broken bird house but there was no sign of the container. The I spotted something sticking out of the snow on the other side of the barbed-wire fence. There was a gate not too far away and I was soon back to the coordinates. The object was indeed the container for part 1. It gave the directions for finding part 2. I returned the container to its proper location and then went over to part 2. The container was under the fresh snow but easy to spot as a small rock pile.

Another February day with a find. Only 13 more days for this month. This was find #10 for 2012. I am getting them one day at a time.
