I am pretty sure we will be driving today, but am not yet sure where. The most likely option will be to return to Lethbridge. Road conditions are good and the weather is fine. The other option is Jasper with the intent to drive to Banff tomorrow. Road conditions yesterday were rated as poor (i.e. not good enough for safe travel) and the report for today is "unknown" at the moment. The weather report for that area is not too bad - some cloud but also some sun. If one goes, one wants to see the mountains.
I am pleased with my progress with my Model Train hobby over the last week. A lot of different threads are all coming together. I now have confirmed the purchase of "Constructed in Kingston" and should receive it within a week. I now have a good sense of the "Ship It! software and am looking forward to adding substantial detail to the data base in the coming days. I have ordered two sound decoders for installation in two of my locomotives and expect them to arrive shortly. Then I need to set a time for going to Calgary and watching a fellow install them and program them. I now have a steam locomotive. I need to order a sound decoder for this unit and then I will attempt to install it myself. When these steps are all completed I will be in a position to run an operational schedule for my layout using a set of 1950's era rolling stock and locomotives. This has been the original goal ever since I first began to design the present layout a few years ago.
