A. Morning Musings

The beginning of a new month. A good reason for having a cup of coffee. And for sitting out on the patio and listening to the water in the outdoor fountain. That was a perfect start to the month. Now for a second cup.

A few minutes reading Rumi is a good next step.

Now a couple of thoughts about today. I need to begin painting the bulletin board frame and structure. That should take about an hour.

Showers are forecast for later in the day so I will postpone staining the garden retaining walls. Since I am painting I do not want to begin sanding the lawn furniture. There is no harm in waiting a few days.

This looks like a good day for doing very little.

I am in the process of updating the links on the left margin to include June. This also gives me a moment to reflect on my running totals for the Year to Date page for my cumulative Time Table. I am delighted to bring my mathematics activities back into focus. I have a couple of more books on symmetry and group theory on order and am optimistic that I can continue to make good progress here. I am also pleased to create a new category called puzzles/games where I can monitor my time on recreational problem solving. Literature has remained relatively steady. Good. The big surprise has been the absence of personal interest activities such as model trains and bird watching. Although not on the list I have been spending time working about the yard. I am also eager to hook up our 5th wheel and get a little camping in during the next few months. The long term activities in the table below seem to be getting little attention - I may still be looking at these items at the end of the year.

So far, so good. The first coat of brown paint has been applied to all of the edges and trim of the bulletin board.

We just spotted an Evening Grosbeak at our bird feeder. This is a new lifer for us.
