Once again, top priority is the assembly of the model kits for 4 cylindrical hopper cars. I will have to work on this during the early morning as there are two playoff football games to watch this afternoon.
The John Ralston Saul book on Canada shifted emphasis during the third quarter of the book. Whereas the first half of the book focused on a re-examination and interpretation of much of Canadian history, and which had a very positive tone, the third quarter documented many of the failures during the last half century and was more sombre reading.

I have completed step 9 for all three of the remaining cylindrical hopper cars. But I have just realised that there are three air hoses that need to be attached to each car as part of this step. There was no mention of this in the detailed description of the steps. Nonetheless I am nearing completion of these kits.
The assembly of the four hopper cars is now complete. I still need to attach trucks and couplers to the cars. I will add the couplers to all four cars tomorrow and I have two sets of trucks which I will attach to two of the cars. I now need to buy 2 more sets of trucks for the other two cars.
