The Map app on the iPad is fantastic. It plots a route from A to B and gives step by step instructions. Unfortunately there does not appear to be a way to get the coordinates of a geocache to either the Map app or to Google Earth app.
But it does work if I type the coordinates into the Search field on the Map app. Excellent!
I have run 3 trains today on my model train layout. One was the unit coal train and the other two were passenger trains. I had some problems with the track in a couple of places but soon had everything working.
I sent a new email to the model railroad section of MRC and received a reply back within a couple of hours indicating that I should send my throttle and base unit back to them for a software and firmware upgrade. This is similar to the upgrades that are a regular phenomenon with computers. Unfortunately it is not possible to accomplish the upgrades via the internet. Pity. Anyway I have placed the units in a box and will be sending it to them tomorrow. This will put a stop to any operational running for 3 - 4 weeks.
McEwan's novel, "Solar" is a delight. Lots of humor, his social commentary has an edge to it. Much more biting than David Lodge.
