Another good day.
The updating the birding database continues to be a regular early morning activity. I have now completed this detail for 429 records (out of 1151), which works out to be 37% complete. Using a fairly standard ordering, I have just finished the Gulls & Allies.
I went birding at the Elizabeth Hall Wetlands beside the Par 3 golf course this morning. The slough is still covered in ice except for a very small section at the far end. But that was enough for about a dozen Canada Geese and a half-dozen Mallards. I also saw a pair of Common Goldeneye on the Oldman river. The waterfowl should begin to pick up as soon as the ice clears off the lakes and ponds - probably in about a week.
Then we went for a coulee circuit this afternoon, keeping up this part of our daily schedule. I am pleased with this physical activity each day.
