I am finding it difficult to plan for the day's activities. The temperatures are remaining cool and often there is a high wind making birding difficult. I have seen a few Robins and Starlings, indicators that the spring migration is beginning to occur here but there is little open water for the waterfowl. If the wind ameliorates a little I may try to see what birding is like near the Par 3 golf course and also near the weir on the Oldman river. I am eager to see if I can get a few photos of birds and insert them into my database.
More generally, I want to spend more time with photography. But our walk in the coulee a couple of days ago showed that the ground is still too wet and muddy for anything but staying on the major paths. Patience!
I will spend a couple of early morning hours updating the birding database, but I do not want to spend much time on this during the day.
I think I will have a look at my model train layout. I would like to begin work on wiring the track for the turntable that I bought in January.
I gained a little weight over Christmas and now that I can begin my coulee walks I am hopeful to get that back to a level I prefer. I will aim for 180 but it seems that 185 is more realistic. I am currently at 195.
