The forecast was accurate - we now have snow on the ground and negative temperatures for a high.
I have spent the last 2 hours cleaning up my bookmarks file for the browser. It took a while but it is something that I had let get totally out of hand.

Part II: How the Brain Learns to Read Over Time
Chapter 4. The Beginnings of Reading Development, or Not
This is certainly true in the case of our family.
Reading, indeed all aspects of psychological and physical growth are highly interrelated. Nothing involving living organisms is simple, and with larger organisms it can be incredibly complex. Of course. Saying that a parent should read to their young children may seem simple, but the underlying reasons why this is good advice is an interlocking and recursive web of factors.

I am making progress.
The mobile sound decoders finally arrived this morning. I think the delay was at Canada Customs. I am now trying to arrange for a time to have them installed. This will make a huge difference to my realistic operations as I will then have 2 new locomotives to add to the one that I currently have with DCC installed. I am hoping to have one diesel locomotive for general freight and the other for yard switching. But I will also ask whether it makes sense to have one of the locomotives be the 0-8-0 steam switcher.
I have also placed an order for a friction mount for my nuvi GPS unit as well as for four more travel bug tags. Then I placed an order for a microSD card for my nuvi that contains a map for future use when travelling.
I now want to play a bit with approaches for keeping track of important, and even some unimportant, dates involving the history of railroading in Canada. I think I want to have a table that is strictly chronological and that is independent of any particular source of information. Events that are CNR specific will be in blue bold, other events will be in black.
