A. Morning Musings

I am feeling a bit punkish this morning. Hope it is nothing. Maybe a coffee will help.

While fixing the track on the layout yesterday I realized that I had created a small interchange yard where the problem was located. Re-arranging and relaying the track was not done with adequate attention to the track joins. The good news is that I now need to see how to set up Ship It! so that it can utilize this interchange yard which will contain cars that have been set out from Queenston, Prairie Dog, The Channon and Lone Pine. Similarly, through freights from Jasper, Black Diamond, Distillery Row, Wild Rose and Coaldale can set off cars at the interchange yard and pick up cars that are sitting there. This should add an additional degree of interest to the train schedules.

B. Actual Learning Activities

2:00 PM

A book that I have been searching for for almost 6 months arrived today. I had tried traditional sources such as railroad hobby stores, second hand book stores and even e-Bay without any success. Fortunately I have friends in Kingston and they were able to track one down for me.

McQuuen

The book has two values: one is the memories it brings back of our time in Kingston although the facilities were torn down 3 years before we arrived, and the record of one of Canada's great railroad companies. I am looking forward to reading this!
