A. Morning Musings

The forecast for today is amazing - we are supposed to make +30 C. Definitely a day for the barbeque.

We need some groceries and I will try to combine that with a quick trip to the Model Baron to see if the latest issue of Canadian Railway Modeller is in. I really am looking forward to the article on making manual throws for HO turnouts.

This is a day for being outdoors. Another job that is in the offing is a trip to the local dump to get rid of the boards from our ex-compost box.

Then I must do some geocaching. I have some sites downloaded onto my Garmin and am ready for a trip to Henderson Lake park.

But it is still dark outside and a good opportunity to work on my schematic diagrams for my layout.

B. Actual Learning Activities

6:30 PM

Early this morning I worked on drawing a schematic diagram for my layout. I think I finally have the major section completed. Now to redraw it for keeps.

A very good day for taking care of many little chores.

I took the lumber from our old compost bin to the dump. That cleaned up our back yard from some refuse.

Then I stopped at Model Baron where I was delighted to see the latest issue of Canadian Railway Modeller. There is an article that describes how to build an HO scale CNR switch stand. I need about 40 of these on my layout! I have sent an email to the company that makes the kit that needs modifying to see about ordering details.

Then on to some grocery shopping including the ingredients for a Bigos stew (fantastic) as well as a salmon for barbequing while the weather is great.

I now have enough Bigos to freeze and keep us warm for the entire winter.

Then a very pleasant break with good friends and some excellent Scotch.

But another day without geocaching.

We made our predicted high of +30 C. Not bad for mid-September.
