B. Actual Learning Activities

Much of the day was devoted to working with my model train layout. I began by placing signs on each of the separate areas of the layout.

I had little difficulty following the directions for installing the MRC Auto Reverse Module on my layout but when I plugged the Command Station in it failed to light the pilot lamp indicating that it had power. I spent about 3 hours trying to determine the problem but without success. I have left messages on three different model train Forums but so far no real progress.

I finally finished reading "Divisadero" by Michael Ondaatje. Much of the writing was quite lyrical and he easily drew me in to the different scenarios but overall the book failed to hold my attention. Reviewing my table from December 22, I see that I will now begin "The Tender Bar" by J. R. Moehinger. A friend recommended this to me a few months ago. Now to give a few minutes thought to what might follow this. I am opting for "The Pillars of the Earth" which I bought a week ago. I have also added "Prisons We Choose to Live Inside" by Doris Lessing to my list of non-fiction readings.
