It is -2 C with a high forecast of +2 C. Sunrise 8:22 Sunset 16:31 Hours of daylight: 8:09
I slept through the night, getting up at 7:00 am. I may be getting into the rhythm of the day now.
Here is my planning table for today:

Here is my updated list of chores that need attention:
I have just finished making a second large batch of chili. That uses all the ground beef that we bought during the last two days. We still want to make a beef stew and a pot of bigas (aka hunters stew).
Looking at the list of chores, the one that makes the most sense to tackle first is putting up the Christmas lights on the front of the house.
Here are two photos of the chili:
I put the battery in the truck and it seems to be running fine.
We see to be busy getting everything ready for Christmas. We went over town and bought a new freezer, smaller than our current one which was too large for our needs. It will be delivered on Dec 31. We still have to make arrangements for the Salvation Army to pick up our old one. We also looked at some juicer appliances but want to postpone a decision until we have done a little more comparison shopping. We had a quick look at some artificial Christmas trees. They were dreadful! We will continue to look and see if we can find something we like.
The lights are now up on the front of the house.
This photo does a better job of showing the snow and ice than it does the lights. I will take another photo at dusk.
My exercise routine is still on hold. But my eating has cut back to an appropriate level for losing a few pounds and I am walking on alternate days. It is a start.
I am going to try a new recipe for salmon from The Australian Women's Weekly publication Dinner Seafood, called "Salmon in Creamy Lime Fettuccine". One serving of this meal is worth 1000 calories. This will put me over my daily limit, but not by a lot. I am flexible when it comes to this plan.
Here is a photo taken as soon as I returned from my walk.

I forgot to take a picture of the salmon meal, which was quite good, but our favorite is still our barbeque salmon using Bev's marinade.
