I played around with Ship It! intermittently today, but made no progress. It was somewhat frustrating as I keep thinking I am close to a solution but so far I am missing a critical component. I am trying to set up two industries (one shipper and one consignee) and move coal between them using two trains (one going east and one going west). Each industry is in a separate town and yard. Thus I have only two towns, each with a yard, and each yard containing one industry. I have also tried using one train and the "return" check box. I am able to start the set out okay with a hopper at each industry, and I have been able to get a hopper to the consignee but I am not able to get it unloaded and returned to the shipper.
Maybe tomorrow will be better.
