I have completed updating our personal bird lists. Here are the total number of distinct birds in each geographical area:

The planets are aligning themselves. While I was working on the wiring for my model train turntable, the snow on the driveway and sidewalk was melting.

The wiring is now complete and everything is working smoothly.

First impressions of iPad 2: magic!

As Steve Jobs said, we are entering the post-PC era. We now have an interface that taps the Web without a sense of technology. Tapping replaces clicking, but the real issue is that the technology is now totally hidden.

But I'm surprised that the environment has still be unable to use voice as a dominant controlling medium. Why can't I say "Show me all the books on symmetry and group theory"?
