A. Morning Musings

This is the first morning this summer for a negative temperature. That will help the leaves turn yellow. But the rain the last two days will be a real problem for the grain farmers who have yet to harvest their crops.

Today will largely be a time for household activities. I will see if I can mow the lawn this afternoon.

I am still fiddling with my model train site. I am trying to provide a photo in the top left corner of each page that is appropriate for the sub-section.

Early morning is a good time for reading, whether it be fiction or non-fiction. Lately it has been "How to Operate Your Model Railroad". Time to switch to my Dales Depot web site.

B. Actual Learning Activities

8:30 am

I have been working on my Model Train web site for the last two hours. I have finished reading and making notes for "How to Operate Your Model Railroad" and I have added images to some of the web pages to enhance the context of the content.

7:00 PM

I have completed replacing a coupler on a 40' box car and it is now operational. I also repaired two other cars - a cylindrical grain car and a rotary snow plow. All of my cars are now operational. I am rapidly getting my layout to the point where everything is working and now the focus will shift to learning new tehniques (e.g. installing and programming decoders in locomotives, using Ship It! to set up my orders for realistic operation) and completing the many kits that I still have on my shelves.
