A. Morning Musings

The cool mornings are beginning. This is when I really appreciate that first cup of coffee.

I want to put the last coat of finish on the four chairs today. But this will wait until noon when the temperature warms up a bit. The tete-a-tete is still slightly tacky and will wait at least one more day before receiving its last coat.

I will visit the Burnco yard and see about a bag of pebbles to put around one of our Japanese lanterns in the back yard. This will finish the area where we used to have the compost bin.

And I would like to visit a battery store and see if I can work something out for my gps unit. I then need to figure out how to load a topo map into the unit.

The pebbles are now in place in the area formerly known as the compost bin.

The four chairs have now received their last coat of finish. I still have to mount the backs onto the frame, but that will only take a few minutes once the finish has dried.

8:00 PM

I am beginning to feel that I am on holidays. The amount of yard work was only a fraction of what it has been the last two weeks. I even did a walk in the coulee for some exercise. I took my gps with me. It wasn't too impressive as the map focuses on streets and I was often a long distance from the nearest one. All I could see was a pale yellow wasteland (on the screen). I am trying to see how long the battery lasts when away from the car. I had it on for just over an hour and the battery indicator moved from 4 squares to 3, suggesting the battery will last for about 4 hours between charges. At the moment I can only charge it by either using a car 12v receptacle or by using the USB port on a computer.
