A. Morning Musings

More rain is forecast for this morning. We had an inch yesterday.

The garage is beginning to take shape. It is now both organized and clean. It looks great and seems much larger with the extra 18" of space now available along the side. I have cut up a lot of scrap lumber that I will be able to use in the fireplace this winter.

Today looks like it will be relatively easy. I will try to make a trip over to the Honda dealer to clarify a few details about the two models we were test driving.

I have finished reading the first of the four novels in the Ernest Hemingway book. A lovely way to begin a morning.

The Sun Also Rises

Ernest Hemingway

This novel is strikingly different than Babbitt, although it was only written four years later. Both novels are very realistic about the lives they portray, but they portray vastly different lives. Both novels are written in a style that suits their characters.

I definitely like Hemingway's writing. It is laconic and spare, and totally captures the situation and mood of the story. The title is a perfect title for such a story.

I would rate this story as 5 out of 5.
