A. Morning Musings

It is raining fairly heavily at the moment. With the flooding in Lethbridge at the beginning of the month we are a little more sensitive to this type of weather. The coulees are still green, very unusual for late July, and we have not had to water the lawn once this summer. It must be one of the wettest Julys on record. Also one of the coolest.

We both worked hard yesterday to take down a set of old kitchen cupboards that we had installed in the garage. By the end of the day we had all of the wood out of the garage and in the back of the truck ready to take to the dump this morning. But with the heavy rain the road at the dump will be a mess so we will now wait a couple of days for it to dry out before making the trip. So much for our plans.

There is still a lot of work to do in the garage as we try to reorganize our stuff. I think I will add another set of shelves in the storage area and set up part of one wall to hold the garden tools.

If I have some spare time I will try to make a trip over to the Honda dealer to clarify a few details about the two models we were test driving.

Most of the days during the last couple of weeks have focused on various types of home renovation and there has been little time for reading or web activities.

One of our neighbours took some photos of the flooding on our street on July 1. Here they are:

We arrived home from Great Falls, Montana the day after these photos were taken. We were very, very lucky to not have any water damage to our basement. Many of our neighbors were not so fortunate.
