A. Morning Musings

Yesterday's activities with the model trains was exciting. The running of the locomotive indicated that the overall track layout, both design and physical, is working. it also marked the first time that I ran a locomotive over the wooden trestle. I am beginning to see how the actual operation of trains, moving goods from one location to another, is going to work. This was the original goal.

Now for today. One item will be to make a 13 bean boulibaisse soup. The model trains will be a high priority. I want to glue down the foam support for the wooden trestle. And I want to continue to run the locomotive over new mainline routes. I have completed the outer mainline "transcontinental" loop for both east and west moving trains but I still have some new routes to try for the local runs. I will order two turnout decoders (Digitrax DS64).

B. Actual Learning Activities

7:50 PM

Another good day. There was substantial melting of snow. The soup was excellent, the foam support for the trestle was glued down, and the running of the locomotive went off without a hitch. I managed to chip the ice off the driveway and still found time to continue reading "Snow".
