A. Morning Musings

Coffee at The Ugly Mug @ 8 am. A good way to begin the day.

The model train benchwork has progressed nicely. I expect to complete that part of the expansion today. Getting the mainline track all laid may take a few more days - in part because I will need to determine exactly what extra track to buy. But it is very satisfying to use almost all of the extra track that I had laying around.

I am feeling very relaxed at the moment. This might be a good day to have another look at "The World of Zen".

Model Trains Lay double mainline track around Black Diamond. Plan layout for Town1 5 hr

B. Actual Learning Activities

10:30 PM

The day was largely spent either working on my model train layout or thinking about where I should lay the track for Town1. I now have the double mainline track fastened down around Black Diamond and I have a green mat laid down over the plywood for Town1. The next major step is to finalize the remainder of the mainline track near Town1. I also need a new name for Town1 and Town2. I am seriously thinking of Jasper for Town1 and Lennox for Town2.

The weather has been brutal today - very windy (about 50 kph) with lots of drifting snow. We have two more days of warm weather and then a cold spell (highs of around -20 C) is forecast. Good weather for model trains.
