A. Morning Musings

The wind is still blowing (45 kmh, gusting to 68 kmh). The cold weather arrives tomorow.

Model train activities are still uppermost in my mind. I will need to drive over to the store and buy some more manual turnouts and connecting track pieces. The main trick is to come up with a layout for Jasper that takes into account trains coming from all three directions (mainline west and east, trestle bridge) and wanting to either drop off or pick up cars. It is simply a matter of logic and mental simulations.

B. Actual Learning Activities

9:00 PM

This has been a model train day. But I am almost finished with the additions to the layout. I have the mainline completely mounted (with the exception of the two steel bridges). I also have the wiring plan clarified. It took all day, but I now feel that the worst is behind me. Much of what remains is detail work, and some of it requires that I buy more foam roadbed material so I can continue laying the remaining track. I also need to purchase the necessary connector track pieces as well as 2 MRC reversing loop modules before I can turn the power on again.

A glass of red wine at this hour feels very very good.
