A. Morning Musings

Once again, I am awake and alert. I should be able to finish reading "The Pillars of the Earth" this morning.

Sunshine is forecast for today so I am going to try pushing my saw outside on to the driveway and do some cutting of the wood for the benchwork for my model trains. I am getting excited about the additions to the layout, particularly the addition of my various bridges. But the actual track layout of the addition of Town1 (I haven't picked a name yet) remains to be clarified. I may leave that until after I set up the mainline track. But I have three benches to build first. It is too cold early in the morning for the outdoor sawing, so I will relax with a cuppa and finish the novel first.

B. Actual Learning Activities

8:00 am

"The Pillars of the Earth" is a good yarn. I was impressed with how the story became entwined with the actual history of England.

The temperature is now -11 C and rising. I am optimistic about working on the benchwork later this morning.

Here is the first bench, ready for a table-surface to be placed on top.

The plan is to have a double mainline track come from behind the Black Diamond coal mine and then come along the wall on the left. The next step is to add a bench to support a large 4' x 4' square sheet of plywood which will be right at the bottom of the photo. Tomorrow.
