We drive up to Brisbane this morning. The basic idea is to stop at a couple of large shopping malls on the way and then stay at a motel near both the river and the airport. We will take a "River Cat" into the Brisbane CBD where we will have dinner. Then tomorrow we will fly up to Airlie Beach in the Whitsunday's for a four day holiday within a holiday.
The day unfolded in a smooth orderly fashion. We had no difficulty finding the two shopping malls. Similarly we drove straight to our motel and then went for a afternoon walk down to the river where we settled in at an upscale bar and had a few drinks. We found a nice seafood restaurant near our motel and had garlic prawns and barramundi for dinner.
