Here are the news.

CBC Headline: Canadian Citizen Arrested In Kabul

A Canadian citizen is being detained in Kabul and has been visited by consular officials, Foreign Affairs confirmed on Friday. A report in the Globe and Mail on Friday said the man was arrested on suspicion of attending a militant training camp. According to the report, he is a 24-year-old man of Pakistani origin who used to live in Calgary and was carrying a Canadian passport at the time of his arrest. It is too soon to form an opinion on the details of this story.

Australian Headline: (from The Australian): Labor's $2.5 bn Schools Fund 'Only A Down Payment'

KEVIN Rudd's $2.5 billion promise to help train apprentices at 2650 schools is only a down-payment on more spending on the technical education before the election. I like the emphasis on technical education. This is an area where Canada is also lagging.

B. Actual/Notes

5:45 am As indicated yesterday, my top priority is to finish creating the web pages for our birding experiences while in Mexico. I think that I have about 4 pages left for February. To work ...

2:15PM I have created the Mexican birding pages for February 22 , February 25 , February 27 and February 28. I am beginning to encounter difficulties identifying some of the birds that I have photos for. My notes at the time were becoming sketchy. The real problem is not the web pages but my database where I keep track of how many new birds I see. The numbers are becoming tricky as the number of "yet to be identified" photos increases. I may have to put that part of the task on hold until my Mexican field guide arrives. But the major task of getting all my birding web pages is now complete. Another major task off my list.
