February 22

Birding Notes

6:00 am May 11 I have reviewed and labelled my iPhotos for February 22. This entry will chronicle the birdwatching activities.

We went for an early morning stroll around the Club med grounds and saw a White-winged Dove, a Couch's Kingbird, a Tropical Motmot, and a Clay-colored Thrush. There was a fog at the time but I did get a good photo of the thrush.

I finally was able to get a decent photo of the Turquoise-browed Motmot. Then a few minutes later I was able to take a photo of another one!

I also saw a pair of birds that looked a bit like kingfishers, but was not able to identify them at the time:

The last bird for the day was a Yucatan Jay, a new lifer for us!

Here is a table summarizing the day's observations.
