I have successfully installed Linux on a PC. I am pleased (surprised?) with the result. There is a problem with the screen and monitor resolution that I am unable to figure out, but hope to get some help on this
soon. Still it is a worry. For Linux to be "ready for the masses", such problems should admit to fairly easy solutions.
The second volume of Tad Williams' Otherland series about virtual reality was returned to me earlier in the week. I picked it up and began reading. It is amazing how easy it is to get back into the rythm of the
story, which I last looked at almost exactly a year ago.
I spent more than an hour trying to make sense of the Linux monitor problem, so I will "classify" today as "yellow" (technology). Presumably I learned something more about Linux even though I didn't learn how to
change the screen resolution.
