A. Morning Musings
5:00 am This is the second consecutive early morning rising. I like it. This morning we will be in Ballina for our regular early breckie but this time we will give the market a pass. If the weather is good along the coast we may make another try to see some birds at Flat Rock beach.
B. Plan
Chores: none
Technology: begin learning about XSL
History: continue reading and making notes for "Medieval Lives "
Birds: visit to Flat Rock beach
C. Actual
5:50 am I have used to Google to locate some XML tutorials and have downloaded a few web pages so I can view these after I have disconnected from the Web. I will now see how this works. I am pleased with my progress so far. 7:00 am
2:50 PM We had a very pleasant breakfast in Ballina at Cafe 29. The smoked salmon eggs benedict was the best I have had in a very long time. Then Phyllis and I went to Flat Rock beach to see if we could identify some new birds. We saw three groups of waders, as well as a pair of grey terns with black bills. I took a lot of photos. Some forensic work back at the laptop and we had three more lifers: the Red-necked Stint (nonbreeding), the Sanderling and the White-fronted Tern. Our total "score" is now 149. We should be able to identify one more within the next couple of weeks.
