Comment: This was a series of diagnostic runs to test both the trackage as well as the first set of 4 cars.

The route passes through the following turnouts: 13, 11, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 (a total of 11).

Run #1: speed 30. Gondola derails near turnout #1, both front and rear wheels.

Run #2: speed 30. OK.

Run #3: speed 40. Gondola derails near turnout #1, front wheels.

Run #4: speed 40. Caboose uncouples at magnet before turnout #1. Removed magnet (there should not be any magnets on the mainline routes).

Run #5: speed 40. Gondola derails at turnout #1, front wheels. Loosen front bolster just a small amount.

Run #6: speed 40. OK.

Run #7: speed 40. Boxcar 473966 derails near turnout 11, rear wheels.

Run #8: speed 40. OK.

Run #9: speed 40. Gondola derails at turnout #2, front wheels.

Run #10: speed 40. OK.

Run #11: speed 40. OK.

Run #12: speed 40. Gondola derails at turnout #2, front wheels, rear truck separates from car (!).

Run #13: speed 40. OK.

Run #14: speed 40. Gondola derails at turnout #1, front wheels. Replace all wheels on gondola with Kadee 520 33" non-magnetic wheels.

Run #15: speed 40. OK.

Run #16: speed 40. OK.

Run #17: speed 40. OK.

Run #18: speed 40. OK.

Run #19: speed 40. OK.

Run #20: speed 40. OK.

Summary: This was my first diagnostic run to check both the trackage and the running cars. The track on Route #1 appears to be okay. All four cars are now operational. I am delighted with my progress so far. Replacing the wheels on one car solved almost all of the problems.
