Friday September 5, 2008 Lethbridge, Alberta

8:30 am

I have read the MRC Prodigy Wireless User's Manual and think the following steps will allow me to use the number 6700 (instead of the default value of 3) when controlling CN 6700.

This appears to have worked perfectly. The locomotive now responds to commands after I indicate that I am "talking" to 6700. Great.

1:00 PM

I have read the manuals for the Digitrax DS64 stationary decoder as well as the MRC Prodigy Wireless User's manual. I am clear about the physical hookup of the DS64 to the four turnouts that it will control. I want to reread the sections on assigning addresses to each turnout (e.g. 601, 603, 604 & 613) and on then controlling them from the handheld Cab. First I need to buy some small screws to attach the DS64 to the underside of the table and then I need to drill holes beside each of the turnouts so I can pass the three wires from each turnout to the DS64. While I am making sawdust, this will be a good time to trim the table top near the Jasper townsite to provide for wider access in the passageway between it and the Lone Pine District.
