I have been refamiliarizing myself with my layout, locomotives, and rolling stock.

I have moved a few sections of track around and am confident that I understand what is required to wire the MRC reversing loop module into my layout. I will do that later this morning.

I have added (temporary) signs indicating each of the separate areas of the layout. I have added new names to two areas - Prairie Dog and Wild Rose. Wild Rose is the siding that contains the large grain terminal. It was formerly part of the Coaldale yard but didn't really belong there. Prairie Dog is the area formerly known as The Channon. The Channon is now a small spur area.

I have decided to add a few insulators to isolate two lines in the Coaldale classification yard. This will be the area where I can park my locomotives without them receiving any power until I can add decoders to them. At the moment I only have one operational locomotive: CN 6700, a C-liner diesel locomotive in the 1960's green, yellow & black paint scheme.

I have placed all of my rolling stock on appropriate sidings and spur lines.

The task of adding two sections of track containing terminals so I can easily attach the wires from the MRC Reversing Loop Module required me to remove a few sections of existing track and rearrange a few sections so that everything continues to fit properly. Similarly, placing insulators on the two lines in the Coaldale classification yard will require some work to fix (i.e. removing some track, replacing the connectors, and then tacking down the track again). This is all just detail work but it does take time. I must remember to clean the mainline track with an abrasive eraser to ensure a clean connection between the track and the wheels of the locomotive.

I am in the middle of building a coaling tower for the Coaldale yard. I will have to get back to that as well. Finally, there are a few boxcars that require some maintenance work. Today looks like a good work day.

A day of mixed results. I now have the overall layout in fairly good shape. But I have not been able to get the reversing loop working. My best guess at the moment is that there is a fault with the MRC Auto Reverse Module as I am unable to see anything wrong with my setup. As soon as I attach the module the Command Station appears to short out. I have sent messages to a couple of discussion boards as well as to MRC. Now to see if I get a reply.
