I downloaded a software package called MacKeeper that is supposed to clean out a lot of un-needed files. I noticed this while viewing a geocaching website.
We drove to Merritt Island this morning for a second attempt at seeing a Painted Bunting. This time we were successful. It is a beautiful bird. We saw both a female and a male. I have some excellent photos of the female and a couple of photos of the male that show the coloring.

Northern CardinalWhile at the park office I bought one book on North American birds:
- "Smithsonian Field Guide to the Birds of North America" (2008) by Ted Floyd.
We then took a very nice hike in a nature preserve but failed to see any birds.
Lunch was our second visit to the Dixie Crossroads where we feasted on their specialty - rock shrimp.
The afternoon was devoted to geocaching. I had prepared a list of 5 caches. The first three all turned out to be Did Not Finds, but we ended by finding the last 2. The DNFs were a real challenge (obviously) and even the 2 that we did find were not that easy.
