It is early morning, dark outside, and quiet inside.
This is a good time for doing something. But what?
- Model Trains: I would like to have a close look at some of the Ship It! reports and see if I can see where I can make some improvements.
- Mathematics: I have one good book on Linear Algebra and expect to receive another one tomorrow. This is also one activity that has a strong handwriting/fountain-pen dimension.
- Photography: I have a few good books on this topic. What is needed is a deliberate effort to both read and take photos.
- Philosophy: I bought a book before Christmas, "Ideas that Matter". The idea when I saw the book was to begin a regime where I would read a section (they are usually only a few pages on each idea) and then write my own reaction to the topic. This would also involve handwriting, but as I think about this this morning I think it would make more sense to use a computer as it is more to quick editing and reworking of a passage.
While reworking these pages for the 2011 website, I have encountered a couple of problems using CS5 that did not appear when using CS3. I am pretty sure this has something to do with CSS and XHTML but have not been able to get on top of it. I may need to buy a book on CS5 to sort this out.
Model Trains (Ship It!), Mathematics (Linear Algebra), Philosophy (basic ideas) and Technology (Dreamweaver) all are at a stage where I am aware of weaknesses in my understanding and I would like to remedy this.
