3:00 PM

I made a trip to Model Baron at noon to buy some new hobby knife blades, a couple of small drills, some paint for the grain trucks, and a steel ruler for working with the wood kits. While chatting with the owner I happened to mention that Atlas made a turntable that did not require cutting a hole in the surface of a layout. He said he had one of those in stock as it was a popular item. I quickly added it to my list of purchases.

When I returned home I placed the turntable on the layout - it will work really well. I now need to buy a few pieces of straight track to complete the revision to the trackage and then I need to figure out how to wire the various sections of track that will hold 5 of my locomotives. But the main reason for the purchase was to have the capability within the Coaldale Yard to turn both my locomotive and my cabooses around for a return trip without having to use one of my reversing loops.
