Daley Train Log

I am planning to run the Deluxe Balancer again this morning, and if there are no serious problems will try running the Balancer Assistant (for the first time) and see what reports are produced. In the best of all worlds I might have a working system and will then be able to run Ship It! and obtain a set of operating orders.
Here is the Car Mix report:
I am going to ignore the problems and proceed with running the Balancer Assistant to see what happens.
The Balancer Assistant program run successfully. Once again, I will ignore the reports and try running ShipIt to see if I end up with a working switching list.
I began running Ship It! with a Fresh Start (new car positions). That ran successfully.
I then set the number of sessions to 1 and ran Ship It! again. This ran successfully as well.
There were no Session 1 errors.
There are a large number of diagnostic messages, most of which I don't understand at the moment.
I have printed the Car Starting Locations for Session 1 as well as the complete switching list (18 pages) for this session. At first glance everything seems to be okay.
Now to try setting the cars up on the layout, and then begin running a few trains. I am curious to see how this works in practice.
While placing the cars on the appropriate sidings I noticed that one boxcar was listed twice. A check of the Ship It! database indicated that I did indeed have this record duplicated. I have deleted one of the records. But this also means that I should rerun the Ship It! programs and obtain a new switching list. Rather than do this at the moment, I will try to keep track of when it occurs and ignore one of the requests.
With the above caveat in mind, I am ready to begin rolling the trains. Since it has been a while since I last did this, I may find that I need to clean the track again. We shall see.
