I have placed all of the cars on the layout according to the Session 0 Ship It! report. While doing this I noticed 4 discrepancies between the reality and the report. In one case I had classified a car as a reefer (refrigerator) when it was actually a stockcar. Another car was described as a boxcar but it should have been given an AAR classification of XMP instead of XM to indicate it was specifically for grain. In another case a car should have been classified as XA instead of XM to indicate it was specifically for automobiles. Two cars needed to have a check in a box on the Ship It! record to indicate it was not available (these 2 cars need some maintenance before they are road-worthy).
I will rerun the initial setup for Ship It! now that these changes have been made to the databases.
Ooops. Something is wrong now. The error report has a number of lines indicating that there is a blank industry name. At the moment I have no idea what is causing this.
Fascinating. I have just rerun both the fresh start and generate session 1. Although there were a number of errors listed after the fresh start, they all disappeared after session 1. Maybe this is working after all.
I have placed all the cars on the layout into their starting locations. The next step will be to try running trains on the layout according to the schedule and switching lists.
It is neat that the initial setup for an operational set of runs was made on the 100th day of my activities.
