This is my first entry for 2010.
I did some maintenance on CN 552942 a 50' double-door steel boxcar. I lowered the coupler at the brake end and reglued a stirrup at the same end. This car is now operational. I have updated the data base.
I then opened up a Walthers kit that I bought before Christmas: #932-7500 a 30' wood caboose. This has a number of wire hand grabs that will be a challenge to mount. I have a #80 drill bit which is very thin. However when I laid all of the pieces out on a white sheet of paper, I discovered that I am missing one piece. Not critical but annoying.
I then accessed the Walthers web site and found a page where I can send an email describing the problem. I should receive an reply within two working days.
Notwithstanding the above, it felt good to be getting back into the hobby.
