I have a coffee mate at the Ugly Mug at 7:15 this morning. A fine way to begin the day.
I have selected Candide as my next novel. It is relatively short and I expect to finish it today.

This novel was a delight. The humour and irony on each page made me want to keep turning them to see what would befall Candide in this, "The best of all possible worlds". It brings to mind the song by Joan Baez, "God is on My Side".
It is sobering to realize how timely and up-to-date this 200 year old novel is.
I would rate this story as 4 out of 5.

Much of today was spent on a truck and 2 bikes. They are now all in great shape. The truck is spotless and has had 4 rock chips on the front windshield repaired. The bikes have had adjustments made to the alignment of the front wheels and handle-bars and have the air in the tires brought up to the recommended pressure.
We have a pot of bigos stew just about ready to eat and wash down with an Angoves shiraz.
