A. Morning Musings

A later start to the day. But the coffee is ready and my eyes should open soon.

I have been musing about the books that I am reading and how to liven up this web page. I am going to try placing a scan of the covers of the books I am currently reading at the beginning of each page. At the moment I have 2 Literature books and 1 non-fiction book that I am reading. I have decided to place this at the bottom of each page so one does not have to scroll through them to see the daily comments about Learning.

I was delighted with my assembly and installation of a Caboose Industries Ground Throw yesterday. But I now realize that I have 3 different models of such throws. Two of them are short and the third is called a high throw since there is a post containing colored flaps that indicate whether the turnout is open (i.e. trains go straight through) or closed (i.e. trains take the curve). This latter model is the one closest to my memory of what Canadian National used when I was a boy. The two short models have the same type of installation, but the high model has a few different steps that will have to master.

We were planning to drive to Waterton this morning for brunch but some weather is coming in so we are cancelling that idea. This may give me an opportunity to play a bit with the latest version of Dreamweaver.

As a result of a delicious beef barley soup and sandwich and a nearby pub yesterday, I am motivated to try my own version of the soup. Now to find a recipe on the Web. Done. Most of the recipes are fairly basic (beef, onions, carrots, celery) but I found one that has red wine as an ingredient. Unfortunately it only uses a half cup, so we will just have to drink the rest.
