Finding feedback in Turnitin
The following shows you how to find feedback on your essay in Turnitin.
There are three possible types of feedback:
- direct comment on the page of your essay
- a rubric
- a general comment
General Comment
In marking your essay, I will make various comments on its text. These will show up for the most part as coloured typed commentary on the face of the essay. These comments may involve corrections, notes on errors, questions, reflections on what you claim, and praise for good points. Comments will mostly be placed in the margins or between the lines of your text near the text they comment on. Specific words will be highlighted by placing the symbols ^^^^^ under the word in question.
In marking your essay, I will use a number of relatively standard symbols in addition to full text comments. Here are some of the symbols I’ll be using:

Rubrics and General Comments
More details rubrics and general comments can be seen by clicking on the “rubric scorecard” and “general comment” buttons in the lower right-hand corner of the screen.
Clicking on the “rubric scorecard” button will call up a frame with a list of scoring criteria. Your score on each criteria is indicated by the coloured square in each row. Clicking on the “general comment” button will replace the rubric frame with a frame showing the general comments, if any, I have added to your paper. 
In addition to viewing these comments and rubrics on the screen, you can also print them off using the print icon at the top of the screen. When you print your marked essay, you will receive copies of all feedback I have provided.
