I spent about an hour playing with Linux. I still have not figured out how to change the screen resolution.

I bought a book by Smart et.al. called "Using Caldera OpenLinux", published by QUE (1999). I do not plan on reading it all, but it does look like a useful reference.

Progress on reading Otherland was very steady. I am almost finished volume 2. I also noticed that the third volume was available in hardcover. I think I will wait for the softcover version, which I assume will be out shortly.
