Model Trains Chronology

7:20 am I have updated my train maintenance data base. Here is a screen capture of part of the report that gives the last date of maintenance for each car.

Here is a screen capture of the actual record for one of the cars.

2:45 PM While downtown I dropped in the local hobby shop and bought one more roll of ground cover "summer grass". At an electrical shop I purchased eight 4- terminal barrier strips for wiring my mainline track. I have placed the ground cover on the layout - that completes the ground cover.

Now I can focus on the wiring. I am not totally sure I have the best solution for a couple of the reversing loops and will see if I can discuss this with the people at the train shop in Calgary next week when we are there. I want to make sure that I know what DCC components I will need when I purchase my DCC equipment.

5:30 PM I have added 2 barrier strips, complete with wiring, to the outer mainline track system. I now have connections from Coaldale to Distillery Row. I want to add one more barrier strip near Black Diamond. This may complete the wiring for the outer mainline, but I want to review this from the perspective of DCC. I think I want two power blocks, one for the outer mainline and associated sidings and one for the inner mainline and its associated sidings.
