A. Morning Musings

5:50 am The temperature is + 8 C with a high forecast of + 21.

Tonight is game 7 of the Stanley Cup final. The rest of the world is watching the World Cup of soccer.

It is time to get back to the yard work. The ground under the sidewalk appears firm and I am going to foego the tamping. Thus today will be parging (this should be fun - it will be another first for me) and sand. Perhaps, even, I will start on the patio stones.

As near as I can tell from the Web, both my MacBook Pro and iPod have been shipped from Tennessee. The days ahead should be interesting as I learn to use both.

C. Actual/Notes

12:40 PM The parging of the front wall by the sidewalk is finished. It turned out to be fairly easy and it looks fine so far.

2:30 PM The garbage bin for collection has just been delivered. We begin using them this Thursday. I consider myself an expert on this, having years of experience in Australia. I have decided to let the parging dry overnight before I begin to add sand to the sidewalk base. A quick check of the weather web site: 60% of showers today and showers again tomorrow, then sunshine. I may wait a couple of days before starting on the sand. I will wait and see what develops.

5:15 PM I have just finished reading "JPod". The hockey begins in 45 minutes.

9:15 PM It has just begun raining heavily. The game is over and the Carolina Hurricanes have won the Stanley Cup with a 3 - 1 victory. The game was well played by both teams. Now to move on...
