A. Morning Musings
5:50 am The temperature is + 11 C with a high forecast of + 21. The rain has finally stopped and we have blue sky.
I have just checked my email and noted that the Apple MacBook Pro has been shipped.
I have two simple tasks this morning: I need to refill the propane tank for the bbq - it ran out last night while cooking a steak, and I will be making a large pot of chilli, some of which will go up to Edmonton and Calgary next week.
I will be spending some time in front of the television today. Edmonton Oilers play game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals (they are behind 3 - 2) and will be eliminated if they lose. The Edmonton Eskimos begin their CFL (football) season today against Calgary.

C. Actual/Notes
8:40 am The chilli is made, the propane tank is refilled, the recycling of paper and cardboard complete, and as a bonus, I was able to buy 3 sandbags at the service station. These should provide a portable dam for those very rare occasions when there is a heavy rain with a strong westerly wind. This is when the water comes into the garage from the patio. The sun is shining and the sky is bright blue. Time for a cuppa on the patio.
5:00 PM I have just finished reading "The Singing Sword". Earlier today we cleaned the garage and took some old paint, batteries and an obsolete scanner to a toxic dump. Each day the house is looking a little better. It has been fairly windy all day, which helps dry out the ground. The Old Man river is very high - but it is still within its banks. The two games (hockey & football) with Edmonton in each are on at the same time - 6 PM. But first, it is time to sample the chilli.
