3:00 PM Model Trains

I think I have come up with a system using Word instead of Excel to concisely give the instructions that an engineer would need to run the trains on my layout. The issue is primarily one of understanding the different routes that the trains must follow in order to drop off and pick up the cars while avoiding running into one another.

I have now completed the descriptions for the period from 1:00 am to 5:00 am which involves 2 local freight trains and a unit coal train. There is still a fair amount of work to be done before this is finished but it seems to working so far.

8:00 PM Geocaching

I am back from attending an event cache in a local restaurant. In addition to meeting some old friends and meeting some new ones, I completed the requirement (i.e. by attending) for an even cache, which just happened to fill in one more day in the table of days when at least one cache has been found.

Tomorrow is okay in that I have found 3 caches on previous November 12 dates. Then there is a string of 6 consecutive days when I have yet to find a single cache. There is a severe storm warning out for tonight and tomorrow - near blizzard conditions. Now the fun begins.
