5:00 PM Geocaching
I put the coordinates for the last 5 geocaches in north Lethbridge into my Montana 600 and headed out in the morning to try my luck. It took longer than I expected but I ended up finding them all. However a new cache had appeared overnight and I tried to find it in the afternoon without any success. I also reverted back to my routine of taking my camera and GeeCee with me on my searches.
- GC33QKQ - Hanging With The Cougars
- This was a quick find. I had tried to find it yesterday but there were muggles in the vicinity so I left the area without conducting a search.
- GC33WQC - Grampa`s House
- Here is my posting for this website: "This one gave me some initial problem as there is another tree with a heart shape on it. I was able to verify beyond a reasonable doubt that the cache was not on that tree. Moving on was a good idea. I quickly found the little container. SL. TFTC."
- GC2XGQX - Toboggan-slide CARL3
- This was a 2-stage multi-cache that also turned out to be difficult. The first stage involved finding a small shiny object which contained the coordinates for the second stage. I couldn't find the shiny object. The coordinates kept saying it was near a sage brush. I finally moved some of the dead foliage and found it buried underneath the leaves. The second stage was an easy find.
- GC33WRT - Gramma`s House
- This turned out to be a quick find. The coordinates were off a bit but I found the container in the first tree I searched.
- GC3498V - Little house on the prairie
- The cache description gave an excellent set of directions on where to park the vehicle which made the walk to the cache site a level trek.
- GC351K8 - For The Birds
- Here is my posting for this web site: "I have a set of coordinates, but was not able to find the container. Not sure if my reasoning is faulty or if my search ability is slipping. TFTC. I really enjoyed the walk around the lake collecting the information. The joggers with a mission kept lapping me."
My global total is now 1072 finds.
