7:00 PM Geocaching
We made a trip to Vulcan today and I made note of 2 caches along the way (one in Barons, the other in Vulcan). Found them both without any difficulty.
- GC2WRE7 - Zeke, the Gecko
- GC2YV20 - Baron of Baron's
Found the Gecko in a tree.
I liked this cache. Rocks were used to hold the container up into a pipe.
Then when we arrived back in Lethbridge I noticed that Joci had made a first to find on the cache that gave me difficulty yesterday.
- GC351K8 - For The Birds
His log suggested that the container was resting in a bird's nest. Here is my posting for the quick find tonight: "2nd to find. 6:50 PM I was right yesterday - both my reasoning and my searching ability were faulty. I saw the hide yesterday (using faulty coordinates) but failed to realize what it was (in spite of the verbal hint). Went back this evening armed with just a pen and immediately made the find. Congratulations to Joci for the FTF and to North of 49 for a great cache."
I found a total of 60 caches in September, making this my 5th most successful month since I began geocaching 38 months ago. My total for 2011 is 163. This is much lower than my totals for the previous 2 years which were close to 400.
